Over two consecutive Saturdays in August, Barnsley Civic and local artist Adam Briscoe brought together a group of talented young people aged 14 to 18 to create a striking new mural for the town.
The project saw students dedicate their time and skills to transforming a wall into a vibrant piece of public art. Some even returned on both weekends, showing remarkable commitment and courage.
Barnsley Civic praised the participants for their hard work, noting the bravery it takes to share artwork on such a public stage. The result is a mural that reflects both the creativity and the pride of Barnsley’s next generation.
“We’re incredibly proud of what they’ve achieved,” said a Barnsley Civic spokesperson. “The dedication and talent on display show just how much young people have to offer our community.”
The mural now stands as a testament to the imagination and determination of Barnsley’s youth — and a reminder of the importance of giving them a platform to shine.
