Hundreds of people are expected to gather at Locke Park this Sunday, 13 July, for the Race for Life 5K – a community fundraising event in support of Cancer Research UK.
At just over three miles, the route takes about an hour to walk on average – but there’s no pressure to finish within a certain time. Participants are encouraged to go at their own pace while raising money for life-saving cancer research.
The 5K course is a 2.5K double-lap route, combining grass and tarmac paths. Starting and finishing on grass, the route includes a mix of downhill slopes and uphill gradients, making for a fun and varied challenge.
There’s still time to sign up, with online registration open until the day before, and limited on-the-day entries available.
