Barnsley Pride Returns for its 15th Anniversary with Biggest Celebration Yet
Barnsley Pride is set to make a vibrant return this weekend as it marks its 15th anniversary with its most ambitious programme to date. The free, family-friendly celebration of LGBTQIA+ culture, inclusion and community spirit will take place on Saturday, July 12, as part of the wider Barnsley Big Weekend.
The event will be centred around multiple venues across the town centre, including Mandela Gardens, Barnsley Civic, The Garrison, and Funny Gals on Wellington Street, which will host the event’s first official late-night after-party.
This milestone year will feature headline performances from drag stars including RuPaul’s Drag Race UK favourite Miss Naomi Carter, as well as Kerry Katona and Vicki Vivacious at the After Dark event.
Entertainment Across the Town Centre
Mandela Gardens will once again serve as the main hub for live performances from 12 noon to 5pm. Hosted by Jay Jay and Jason from Gays Up North, the stage will feature a packed line-up of music, drag acts, and community spotlights.
Over at Barnsley Civic, a more relaxed family-friendly offering includes acoustic performances, drag story time sessions, and creative craft activities for all ages. Events here will run from 12:30pm until 4pm.
The Garrison will host a lively cabaret programme between 1pm and 8pm, led by local drag favourites Gina Tina and Council Estate Bev. Later in the evening, the festivities will continue at Funny Gals, where Pride After Dark kicks off at 6pm — offering an energetic close to the day’s events with music, comedy and drag performances.
