A planning application has been submitted by the Darfield Area Amenity Society for the installation of a Blue Plaque at Darfield Museum in Barnsley.

The proposed plaque aims to commemorate the lives of Maurice Dobson and Fred Halliday, who both lived and worked at 2 Vicar Road, Darfield—the current home of the museum.

Maurice Dobson passed away in 1990 and bequeathed the property and its contents to the people of Darfield. The building has since become a museum dedicated to local history and the unique legacy of Maurice and Fred.
