A new defibrillator has been installed in Darton, thanks to a joint effort between Darton Primary School, the Outreach Christian Centre, and local community groups.
The school received the life-saving device through government funding and wanted to ensure it was accessible to the entire community. However, additional funds were needed to buy a secure cabinet to house it.
Local councillors suggested installing the defibrillator at the nearby Outreach Christian Centre on Station Road — a proposal welcomed by Pastor Paul Wood and church members.
The cost of the cabinet was shared between the church and the Voice for Darton and Kexborough community group, making the project a true team effort to support public health and safety.
