Barnsley Council has made a compulsory purchase order covering land and rights needed to deliver the £28 million overhaul of Stairfoot Roundabout.
Another major step has been taken in the £28 million plans to overhaul Stairfoot Roundabout.
Barnsley Council has made a compulsory purchase order covering land and rights needed to deliver the scheme.
The project covers routes including the A633 Grange Lane, the A635 Doncaster Road, Wombwell Lane, Hunningley Lane and Bleachcroft Way.
The aim is to reduce congestion and improve journeys for drivers, buses, cyclists and pedestrians.
The compulsory purchase order is now due to be submitted to the Transport Secretary for confirmation. Objections can be made until 16 October, so this is another significant step forward rather than the final approval.
