Free bus pass warning for young people causing trouble at Barnsley Interchange
Young people involved in anti-social behaviour at Barnsley Interchange could have their free travel passes reviewed, the council has warned.
Young people caught up in anti-social behaviour at Barnsley Interchange could see their free bus passes looked at again, Barnsley Council has said.
The warning is aimed at a small minority whose behaviour is causing problems for other passengers and staff at the town's main bus and coach station.
The council says the interchange should be a safe and welcoming place for everyone, and that the behaviour of a few should not become the norm or damage the town's reputation.
It stresses that young people simply gathering together is not the issue. The concern is anti-social behaviour, intimidation and violence.
Anyone with information about trouble at the interchange can report it to South Yorkshire Police or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
