Former Sheffield priest Christopher Brain has been convicted of rape and four further indecent assaults following a retrial.
The 69-year-old led the Nine O'Clock Service movement in Sheffield during the 1980s and 1990s. Brain had already been convicted in 2025 of 17 counts of indecent assault against nine women.
Following the latest five-week retrial, he has now been found guilty of the remaining four indecent assaults and one count of rape. That brings his convictions across the two trials to 22 sexual offences involving 13 women.
He will be sentenced at a later date.
