Plans for up to 126 homes in Dodworth backed by planning board

Plans for a major housing development in Dodworth have moved another step forward.

Barnsley's planning board has backed proposals for up to 126 homes on land north of Keresforth Road. The site is already allocated for housing in Barnsley's Local Plan.

Concerns have been raised during the process about wildlife, the impact of development and the absence of affordable homes currently proposed.

The planning board backed the scheme after a divided vote. However, the council's online planning system still currently lists the application as under consideration, with the formal decision still to be recorded.
