Rotherham Council is beginning work on a borough-wide street trading policy that could create a more consistent framework for how street trading is controlled across the borough.
The council says this is the beginning of the Local Plan process rather than decisions being taken tomorrow about individual development sites.
There will be much more work and consultation before a final Local Plan is adopted.
Ultimately, the decisions made through this process could shape Rotherham for years.
