Sheffield burglar jailed after trying door handles

Shaquille Brown, a 31-year-old man from Sheffield, has been jailed for 18 months after pleading guilty to three counts of attempted burglary.

South Yorkshire Police received numerous reports about a man trying door handles on properties in the Colley Road area of Sheffield on June 12.

The police recovered doorbell footage showing Brown trying door handles on multiple houses and attempting to enter a car.

Brown was identified through the footage and later sentenced to 18 months in jail. Detective Sergeant Thomas Jordan urged people to take steps to make their homes less of a target to burglars.
