About Cast Productions Yorkshire

Cast Productions Yorkshire

Developing the performers of tomorrow.

Cast Productions Yorkshire (CPY) is an ambitious, performance-led youth theatre company based in South Yorkshire, dedicated to developing the next generation of performers through high-quality theatrical production, industry-focused training and professional artistic practice.

Founded on the belief that young performers deserve access to meaningful opportunities, expert guidance and exceptionally high standards, CPY bridges the gap between training and professional performance. We operate with the ambition, structure and creative discipline of a professional theatre company, providing our members with an environment in which artistic excellence, personal development and industry awareness go hand in hand.

Our approach extends far beyond the rehearsal room. Members develop their skills across acting, singing, dance and musical theatre, working alongside experienced creative practitioners and production professionals. Through a commitment to professional rehearsal processes, detailed character development, ensemble collaboration and technically ambitious productions, we equip our performers with the knowledge, confidence and discipline required to progress within the performing arts industry.

Each production is approached as a complete theatrical undertaking, bringing together performance, musical direction, choreography, stage management, technical production, costume and design. Our commitment to production quality ensures that our members experience the expectations of a professional working environment while contributing to ambitious, fully realised theatrical experiences.

Our ethos is underpinned by a simple principle: exceptional training should create exceptional opportunities. We place equal importance on nurturing individual talent, building resilience, encouraging creative independence and fostering a culture of mutual respect, accountability and collaboration. Every member is encouraged to recognise their potential, challenge their limitations and develop the skills necessary to thrive both on stage and beyond it.

Following productions of Grease and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Cast Productions Yorkshire continues to build its artistic portfolio, with Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s iconic musical Evita announced as our next major production for July 2027.

As an organisation, we are committed to creating meaningful pathways into the industry, establishing partnerships with the wider performing arts community and ensuring that ambition is matched by opportunity. We are not simply interested in producing shows; we are invested in developing performers, shaping futures and creating experiences that leave a lasting impact.
