Barnsley FC are back in competitive action on Tuesday 6 October, travelling to Fleetwood Town in the EFL Trophy. Kick-off at Highbury Stadium is at 7pm.
Both teams are looking for their first victory in the group. Barnsley were beaten 4-3 at home by Leeds United U21 in their opening game, while Fleetwood lost 1-0 at Oldham Athletic.
That means the Tuesday 6 October meeting could already be pretty important in Northern Group G, with the top two sides progressing to the knockout stages.
Barnsley had no League One match at the weekend after the scheduled Oakwell game against MK Dons was postponed because of international call-ups. In fact, only three League One games were played over the weekend because of the international window.
After an unexpected football-free Saturday, it is finally matchday again for the Reds.
