Barnsley Council's Markets Team has been named the winner of the inaugural Geraldine Carter Award at the National Association of British Market Authorities (NABMA) Awards.
The award is a new honour from NABMA, the national body representing market authorities, and recognises work in championing markets.
The council says the recognition reflects the team's efforts on behalf of Barnsley's markets.
It's a proud moment for the team and for the town's market tradition, which remains at the heart of Barnsley town centre.
