Barnsley's Base71 Youth Zone has won the Sustainability and Social Impact Award at the Yorkshire Property Awards in recognition of its work with young people.
The purpose-built centre caters for young people aged eight to 19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs. Barnsley Council says Base71 already has almost 5,000 active members using facilities including its sports hall, climbing wall, music studio, sensory room, dance studio and boxing and martial arts gym.
