Phillip Benson, 57, has been charged with murdering 41-year-old Russell Baxter who was found dead at a Barnsley home on September 3. The murder charge replaces a previous charge of Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent. Benson remains on remand ahead of his court appearance at Sheffield Crown Court on October 9. A second person arrested on suspicion of murder remains under investigation but is being held on other charges. South Yorkshire Police has issued an appeal for information regarding the death.
