Community share offer launched to turn former Waingate pub into £150,000 media centre

A new community share offer has launched to help transform the former Tap and Barrel pub on Waingate in Sheffield into a community-owned arts and media centre.

Sheffield Community Media wants to raise £150,000 to turn the building at 42 Waingate into the new venue. The building was acquired earlier this year.

Plans for the centre include radio studios, TV facilities, podcast studios, a performance space, a cafe bar and community arts facilities.

Members of the public can invest through the community share offer and become co-owners of the project.

The investment offer remains open until 10 December.
