Barnsley has found itself at the centre of the robot delivery revolution. Evri has launched what it says is Europe's first trial of a two-legged autonomous delivery robot.
The robot is being tested with Japan-based Refined Robotics to see whether it could help couriers with the final journey from a delivery van to somebody's doorstep.
It can reportedly carry parcels up to 15kg, travel at up to 6km/h, climb stairs, handle uneven ground and get in and out of delivery vans.
Evri says human couriers remain central to its operation and the trial is about testing whether robotics could support them.
