Joint working between South Yorkshire Police and Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council (BMBC) has resulted in a decrease in overall crime in the town centre over the past three years.
The town centre neighbourhood policing team and council wardens run joint operations focusing on shop theft, conduct visible patrols around the town as well as in anti-social behaviour hotspot areas, and enforce the Public Space Protection Order (PSPO).
Neighbourhood Inspector Richard Mangham explains more in a video shared by the force.
