Police have moved to counter false claims surrounding the fatal explosion on Clifton Mount in Rotherham.
Rory Costello, 60, also known as Rory Conway, died following the explosion on 29 September.
South Yorkshire Police says there is currently no evidence of criminal activity and Counter Terrorism Policing is not involved.
Officers previously said their initial assessment was that the explosion appeared to have resulted from a household accident, although enquiries into the exact circumstances are continuing.
Police have urged people not to spread unsupported claims about the incident online.
