Hundreds of homes could eventually find themselves in different parish areas under a proposed review of Rotherham's community governance arrangements.
The council is considering potential changes to parish boundaries, names and council sizes, including questions over whether the Poppy Fields development should sit within Bramley or Ravenfield.
Any boundary changes could also affect the parish precept paid as part of residents' council tax bills.
The proposals are at consultation stage and no final boundary changes have been agreed.
