Two fire crews attended an incident where a large tree had blown over in severe winds and landed on a car and HGV, leaving the driver of the car trapped inside.
Firefighters used various saws to cut the branches of the tree so that the driver of the vehicle could get out.
Crews then cut away the rest of the tree to free up the HGV so that this could drive away.
The incident had been dealt with by 12pm. Crews from Barnsley and Dearne stations attended the rescue at Dog Hill, Shafton, on 25 October 2026.
