Penistone Grammar School has issued formal communication after a lockdown was introduced at the school this morning.
The school says the lockdown was brought in as a precaution and has now ended. Everyone is safe, and police attended the site and confirmed that the school had taken the correct course of action.
Penistone Grammar School has praised staff and students for remaining calm and following instructions throughout the incident.
Students are now continuing with lessons for the remainder of the day.
