Yorkshire Water has formally objected to plans for almost 300 new homes on land between Jump and Hemingfield, according to a report. The objection is the latest response to the proposals, which sit between the two Barnsley borough communities.
Campaigners and councillors say the development would effectively merge the two villages together.
Barnsley Essentials has approached Yorkshire Water and Barnsley Council for further detail on the objection and the current status of the application.
