Nigel & Simon are taking on the famous Rat Run Challenge - driving from Barnsley all the way to Benidorm in a car that cost under £600.
We bought a VW Beetle convertible for the job. It’s 1600 miles, no motorways, no sat nav, and no guarantees we’ll make it. But we’re doing it for two causes very close to our hearts.
Nigel is driving for Alzheimer’s Society. I lost my mum to Alzheimer’s. Anyone who’s watched someone go through it knows how cruel it is. Alzheimer’s Society funds research and support for families going through the same.
Simon is driving for Western Park Hospital. Simon sadly lost his dad to cancer. Western Park Hospital took incredible care of him through it all, and this is our way of saying thank you.
All proceeds will be split 50/50 between Alzheimer’s Society and Western Park Hospital.
So please, dig deep. If we can nurse a £600 Beetle 1600 miles to Benidorm, you can spare a few quid for two brilliant causes.
